Anjali Kumar

Senior Counsel, Google

Anjali Kumar is Senior Counsel at Google where she provides legal counsel for senior sales and product executives on advertising and advertising technology products, with a specific focus on YouTube, mobile, display advertising, data and audience targeting. Anjali runs the chef/food program of the @Google speaker series in NYC, and is a member of Google's NetPAC Advisory Board and Women's Leadership Executive Steering Committee. She is also a Board member/Board Secretary of ISSUE Project Room, an innovative artistic space in Brooklyn, NY focused on challenging and expanding conventional practices in art. Anjali is working on her first film, a feature length documentary entitled "Just Eat the Soup: One Woman's Search for a Little Peace and Enlightenment" (Russell Simmons, Executive Producer; Madeleine Sackler, Director) chronicling her bumpy adventures exploring spirituality.

Immediately prior to joining Google, Anjali served as General Counsel of Acumen Fund, an international venture philanthropy foundation that employs entrepreneurial approaches to solving global poverty. Anjali was previously at Robin Hood Foundation providing strategic planning and board development for grant recipients and a corporate attorney with Shearman & Sterling in London, New York, Paris and Rome.

Anjali has designed a handbag line featured in Vogue and Sex and the City, was named one of the "25 Hot Young International Designers of 2005", and has worked as a chef at Badia a Coltibuono in Tuscany and at Tabla in New York.

Anjali holds a BA in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University and a JD from Boston University School of Law. She lives in New York City with her husband, Atul, and daughter, Zia.
